Oral Polio Vaccine is for prevention of Poliomyelitis disease.
Poliomyelitis is often called polio or infantile paralysis.
Commonly there is a public conception, specially in lesser educated society that Polio vaccination is for strengthening the body and prevent any paralysis. No. It only prevents the poliomyelitis disease. Likewise, Tetanus Toxoid only prevents Tetanus disease. It does not give protection against other bacterial infections causeded by cuts/ abrasion etc. You have to take antiseptic measures to other bacterial infections like staphylococcus, streptococcus etc. which causes pus formation at the end. Now, we shall discuss about tetanus after a little while. Before it I shall draw your attention to a issue related to the resistance during pulse polio campaign. Some persons from certain community who keeps more faith in rumours than upon scientific facts of a campaign bring the lame excuses forward that the polio vaccination has harmed their known persons/ children, as if it caused paralysis. The Oral Polio Vaccine is completely safe. If any one accuses of paralysis from OPV it is absolutely false. There are so many causes of paralysis and any such disease may have coincided with the Polio Immunisation. Causes of paralysis : The four most common cause of paralysis are -
Tetanus is preventable by tetanus toxoid. Besides the routine immunisation any person is protected from Tetanus by the tetanus toxoid injection in every 10 years. If its is not done then after exposure to the infection one should take the Tetanus immunoglobulin or ATS to prevent Tetanus disease. Thanks for your patient reading.

RBSK is an early detection and early intervention services for 0-18 yrs ageds, the future of the nation, under the National Health Mission. NHM covers two sub- missions : National Rural Health Mission & National Urban Health Mission. RBSK (Rastriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram) comes under both territory. In this service a Health screening is done by Mobile Health Teams for detecting 4D-s, Defects since birth, Deficiencies, Diseases and Developmental delays among the Govt. or Govt. aided school students, childrens under ICDS (Anganwadi schools), children born at Primary Health Center or Block Primary Health Centers onwards Govt. Hospitals. These beneficieries are almost present in every household of our country. Thus it will secure our healthy citizens of India in next 10-20 years. After detection proper referal to the health centers or higher hospitals is done. In district District Early Intervention Centers look after these referrals and arranges proper interventions there or higher Medical Colleges or in a capable private hospital in Public Private Partnership at free of cost. The costs to be sponsored by State and Central Governments. Though all intervention and treatment costs are yet to be covered by Government still there are some achivements which are already being done at free of cost succesfully :
